Club Dada needs an intern

If only this internship was around during my younger days. I don’t know how disorganized Miss Amanda can be but I imagine a few Stellas and some sweet-a$$ shows would more than make up for it.

Club Dada needs an intern…

minimum requirements:

you must be at least 21.

you must have a car.

you must have a sense of organization far better than mine.

you must have great writing skills.

you absolutely must love music.

you must absolutely love drinking for free and going to free shows.

and you must be okay with minimum wage.

Work and not get paid

But it’s probably for the best to some of you. DFW Scene aka NBC5 has posted their available internships. So you budding Katie Courics nd Matt Lauers, or whatever, get to steppin’ so you can pad that resume:

Click that hunk of bits and bytes to head to the internship page on NBC5i.com and see the details and what you need to send along to get the coolest internship in DFW.

Beyond getting real world experience in the Web and TV, you’ll also get into shows for free, and cover loads of interesting stuff you’d most likely already want to do.

If you’re in school and you want college credit, hit up the link, send us your stuff, and we’ll see about getting you into the Scene.

Face for Radio?

Either way, if you got the experience and maybe even know a few things about sports, The Ticket may just want you. I’d love to do it but not sure if my extensive knowledge of figure skating is what they want. Sigh. One day. Here’s the official word:

The Ticket is actually recruiting! EXPERIENCED anchors and producers.

If you think you can crank out a Ticket Ticker sports update AND you have radio announcing experience of some kind AND you have an MP3 you can e-mail AND you live in DFW AND you can work weekends, contact us via e-mails posted at the Ticket.com. Mark Friedman or Jeff Catlin

If you think you know how to plan and burn a segment with the best of em, you may be the Ticket’s next show producer. IF you have RADIO experience of some kind, better yet PRODUCING experience, if you can work WEEKENDS, if you actually KNOW SPORTS, live in DFW and are resourceful enough to contact us to learn more, do so ASAP!!

And when you get hired, bring me onboard. Thanks a bunch.

Could these guys be your new coworkers?

Break into the Media Biz

Well, I don’t really know about that but I guess it could be a start. CORE Dallas, a local publication that describes itself as “a unique and irreverent publication that looks at the people and places that make up the CORE of Dallas,” is seeking a personal assistant. For whom, I don’t know. I can’t even quite tell how big the staff is or if they even have one. They seem to have columnists though.

Still not really sure what’s the deal with this mag. They are on issue eight but I’ve never seen them around town. And their website is pretty bare bones. April marks their re-launch party so maybe after the that, a little more clarity will surface. Do I get an invite?

Curious about the job? Here are the requirements:

Prefer female and very boring, non-drinker, non-smoker and reliable. Must have good transportation. Cannot be bitter or man-hating complainer. No crying.

At least 30wpm, good organizational skills, fast thinker, good sense of humor (but still boring) and must not have bad breath or wear patchouli oil. Must be tolerant of reptiles. Must be willing to work in my office or home. Students are fine but only if you aren’t a party person. Send your qualifications to COREDallas@coredallas.com and we’ll talk about money.

Don’t know where boring, man-hating, bitterness comes in unless it takes away from a certain someone but if you meet these criteria and willing to subject yourself to already more judgment, than email them stat.

And CORE, if you pay high dollar for freelance….call me.
