Not your typical BLT

Especially if it stands for Bistro Laurent Tourondel, the new Addison steakhouse sure to warm the tummy and break the bank. But they are buying the first round of drinks for a limited time. Not a bad payoff. Get your reservations stat!

OH, there is THIS to do tonight…

Free tequila somehow never sounds like a bad thing. Although it probably is. But I don’t see how. Thank you, Soda Gallery!

Not that hot

but if you want a Cool Out, that’s going to be at The Cavern tonight and probably in less than an hour. Some brilliant DJ action going on but more importantly, $2 wells and beers. Yip!

Tequila Mockingbird

Tonight you should totally head over to the O.C. and partake in The Soda Gallery’s Tequila Tasting Event sponsored by Raul Santillan of Los Catadores Tequila at 8 p.m. In fact, you must since reknowned party planner and trendsetter Colin Cowie says tequila is the new champagne in sipping drinks. And you know she gotta be right. What’s more - the event’s free.

Now, you underagers don’t get any bright ideas. This is a 21+ event and duh if you think it wasn’t. You got about an hour to get ready and head over to the Bishop Arts in Oak Cliff for yer sampling pleasures. Get there early cuz you know some cheap lushes are gonna be there trying to get their drink on. Hey, u lookin’ at me? For more details, give us a call at 214-946-7632.

Are you a conservative or liberal…

…drinker that is. For those who drink liberally read on. Pardon the mere reposts. In a creative and mental slump so still kind of taking a break but trying to post the good stuff coming up.

Please mark your calendar for this month’s edition of Dallas Drinking Liberally.

Join us at The Stoneleigh P, 2926 Maple Avenue at Wolf across from the historic Stoneleigh Hotel, on FRIDAY, August 10, 2007 at 6:30 pm or thereabouts. You can swing by after work to meet your liberal friends, order drinks and maybe even have dinner.

Here’s the map.

I look forward to seeing y’all there!

Cheers,
Melissa

P.S. A liberal welcome to those who have recently joined our mailing list through DFA Link, Texas Democrats, Dallas Video Festival, MySpace or the Dallas Air America Yahoo group. We always meet the second Friday of each month at The Stoneleigh P, and sometimes meet at other venues to Screen Liberally or Eat Liberally. There’s something for everyone under the Living Liberally umbrella.

P.P.S. If anyone was lucky enough to attend YearlyKos 2007 in Chicago last weekend, I hope you’ll come Friday night and tell us about it firsthand!

Get Fizzed in the Cliff

Yeah, like RIGHT NOW. I love this place so much and yet I rarely get to make it out there. I’m hoping that will change for today cause I’ve GOTS to get my bubbly on at the Soda Gallery with all they have going on for their anniversary party. U go too.

For your drinking consideration

Head over to the Double-Wide for these yummy sounding drinks. Plus, they have a daily happy hour from 5 - 8pm. Tonight and tomorrow it’s $2 wells and domestics and that’s all night long. Weds you can get your drafts at half price. Sweet. But I’m looking forward to trying the following:

Scoop of ice cream included?

Tell me that this does not sound like uber super fun. And if you do, I’ll consider you the devil’s offspring. Of course, I may be biased since I’m a huge root beer fan. (but interestingly, not big on the root beer candy - discuss). The thought of an ice cold root beer nestled in a two-hand-grip frosted mug with its foamy bubbly head sends my taste buds into hops heaven. I’m just sad I’ll have to miss this Soda Gallery event tomorrow night due to a triple threat of Ugly Betty/Mavericks/Spider Man 3 viewing more importantly topped by a deadline approaching at light speed. I must have reports if you make it out. My taste buds are already whimpering in flavor frustration and deprivation.
