Oliver Future in Esquire

It’s late. I can’t think. Esquire magazine took pics of SXSW and sorta kinda local band Oliver Future (now based in L.A.) was in one.

Have at it. And good night.

So much for downsizing

In the past few months, I’ve either sold a bunch of my DVD’s or have given them away thinking “I don’t really need 700 of these.” But that was before CD World came a callin’ my name with this.

“Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.” So, now it may be time to restart my collection. Dammit.

More East Dallas Gentrification

Not that I mind it all too much. Some of the gritty dirty stuff could go or get a facelift. Just don’t make it into a haven for prefabricated and boring condos. Personally, I’m kind of excited about the new Office Depot on Gaston. The Starbucks is definitely a worthwhile investment (listen up, Deep Ellum) but if people are going to come in and build condos and make it look like Oak Lawn where there are a bunch of nice buildings but no one living there, then, I’d just as soon prefer them to stay out.

McShane Companies is coming in to make it a little more purty in my neck of the woods. Their buildings don’t look so bad but I just hope they know how to fit in. I just hope my superhero friend who lives there knows about this.

The Official Jesse Garcia Watch 03-14

Whoowee. This week’s issue of the Dallas Voice almost had me. While flipping through the pages searching for a picture of my favorite local gay democrat, JG, I ddin’t see his face anywhere. Could they have read this and decided to mock my harmless nitpicking? Was there actually a story during election year not regarding him or the Stonewall Democrats? Pish posh.

So upon second look, I found my guy albeit this one might be nitpicking too much. It’s his usual headshot but with two others side by side so it takes away from the focus. Buuut, nonetheless, Mr. Garcia’s pic is once again in the paper. However, the article it accompanies by Tammye Nash regarding LGBT Dems and Reps successes with anti-discrimination is on the better side of awesome.

Club Dada needs an intern

If only this internship was around during my younger days. I don’t know how disorganized Miss Amanda can be but I imagine a few Stellas and some sweet-a$$ shows would more than make up for it.

Club Dada needs an intern…

minimum requirements:

you must be at least 21.

you must have a car.

you must have a sense of organization far better than mine.

you must have great writing skills.

you absolutely must love music.

you must absolutely love drinking for free and going to free shows.

and you must be okay with minimum wage.

I want to thank everyone one in both states for all the support. New Jersey has really supports me up here thanks again. And we will make the playoffs

Ummmm, yeah. Still miss ya, bud!

Pikahsso for Dummies

Whenever I get a barrage of MySpace bulletins from Pikahsso, I must admit I seriously think about editing my friends list. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Pik and some PPT and all that buuuut, I end up missing other bulletins and well, you can imagine my less than serious plight. But dammit, Pik always keeps me hanging on when every so often one of his bulletins reaks of brilliance.

Such as

Now that’s classic. Where do I place my order?

Don’t drink the Water

So, I just want to take this moment to thank the Water Department (for lack of a better name) for slowly killing me with their song. It’s bad enough I’m uber paranoid about germs and what not but now our drinking water has drugs in them. Great. So the traces are miniscule but I just know with all the pharmaceutical drugs that have been detected, I’m prolly gonna end up all Heath Ledger like on my bed on day. Don’t worry, I’ll be clothed.

How does the water affect us locally? According to the linked article:

Several Texas cities were included in the study. Dallas officials said the results of drug screenings are not complete. Five drugs were found in Arlington water, but officials would not identify them, citing security concerns. Austin officials said tests there were negative and Houston doesn’t test for drugs.

Note to self, don’t live in Houston and Arlington peeps are idiots.

SNL walks down the Runway

This is my laugh of the day thanks to Miss Merritt over at Trebek. And probably only funny to those who watched Project Runway this season, a show I got overly obsessed about.

Enoy it orrr your out.
