Forget Rubbermaid, getcher Tupperware this Friday night

I received this notice from Dr. Tim Seelig that sounds too fun to pass up. Plus, I kind of need some new plasticware. Besides, is there anything better than buying Tupperware from a drag queen? W00T!

Dixie’s Tupperware Party

Watch NOW!!!From the sublime to the ridiculous,” some might say—following Dr. Maya Angelou with Dixie Longate. Not so fast! That is not taking into account Southerners’ deep and abiding admiration for a beautiful woman with extraordinarily big hair who also provides life-sustaining Tupperware needs at the same time!!! There is NOTHING ridiculous about that! Some might even call it sublime.

Next Friday, we will gather for “Dixie’s Tupperware Party” to simply laugh (a lot), enjoy each others’ company, and help Hope for Peace & Justice. It is a light, summer event at a beautiful location in the West End. You absolutely do not want to miss this evening of hilarity and shopping.

V.I.P. TICKETS ARE ALMOST SOLD OUT, but there are still plenty of floor seats and general admission tickets available. There will be a cash bar available for a cool summer beverage as well.

If you cannot attend, you can still help. Go on line and buy some Tupperware. Dixie is donating her entire commission to H4PJ for a week before and a week after the event! You can log on to DixieLongate.com and order. She is going to donate the commission from any sale in the entire state of Texas! If you have friends and family from anywhere else in the U.S., they also may order at DixieLongate.com and send her an e-mail that they want H4PJ to get the proceeds, and we’ll get the donation! In addition to helping H4PJ fulfill its mission, you’ll also be helping Dixie regain her standing as the #1 Tupperware salesperson in the U.S. of A!!!

You don’t want to miss this event, so please get your tickets now! We will sell out.

I’ll see you there.

Your Favorite non-Dallas reporter from Dallas but now in Austin

I’ve been getting the following e-mails from a Bob Robuck:

Hey all,
Continue to keep voting for me as Best Reporter in Austin. I was nominated last week…and am in 3rd place and would at least like to hold onto that. You can vote once an hour…and the voting ends tomorrow (Tuesday). So keep ‘em coming in. Just go to the link below and vote for Bob Robuck.
Thanks so much for your continued support!
Bob

First, I was asking who the hell this guy was and how am I on his email list. Turns out we’re both members of the same journalist association. Fair enough. But why would I vote for someone I don’t know in a city I don’t live in. Well, this is why. The dude has Dallas ties. And so that’s enough for me to vote him in as Best Reporter in Austin. He graduated from SMU and has worked his way through practically all the markets in Texas to make it big in Austin. Something that I’m trying to embark on this summer. So, I here now ask you to head over to Austin360.com (the link aboveA) and vote Robuck in regardless if your ethical senses say it’s not right to vote from Dallas. Because once Mr. Robuck sees that GRiD was responsible for getting him ino the #1 spot, then I’m certain my broadcast career will blow up soon after.

I try hard to find these win-win situations.

Aww…ain’t he cute? Now vote him #1!
