What? the Hayll

What? Bar is slowly trying to gain back some street cred after a long spell of bad bands and then no bands. It didn’t help one night when I wandered into no air conditioning and a slightly less than enthusiastic weekend crowd of people that I probably could have counted on both my hands and feet. I liked What? at first for being kinda gothy but not weird. It reminded me of a ligher shade of Dark Side and they were having some slightly decent shows there but all of the sudden they dried up. Cover bands played for a while and some recurring acoustic act never hit the mark. It was pretty sad. But they are revamping with some new DJ nights and bringing some live music back to the Lower Greenville lineup of venues. By the looks of their myspace, I’d say the fare won’t be as heavy rockin’ as it once was but that’s ok. This place needs any kind of jumpstart. Plus, I have GOT to check out their 80s night.

Tomorrow night might be the time to get (re)acquainted with the place with Hope Cassity and her pop-rock folk music. This is several upgrades from just a couple of months ago. Or at least make a pitstop before heading elsewhere.

Road Rage Mesquite

Dear Old Man in the Sleeveless Shirt,

I totally appreciate the way you decided to risk my vehicle this morning by cutting out of the Valero parking lot you were in to make a left where I was also making a legal U-Turn at the time onto Gross Road as well which only means I had the right of way. As I honked my horn, your look (or failure to look at me) only certified that you knew you were making a driving move worth of an a$$hole. But I’ve decided to give you the benefit of the doubt. I figured your sister probably broke up with you and ran off with your other brother and you were feeling the heartache at that moment.

This does not stop me from wishing while behind you on LBJ that one of your tires would blow out causing you tp lose control and skid to a fiery death. Or at least knocking out more of your teeth. But I do take pleasure in the fact that you saw my camera take your picture and how you appropriately sped away from me.

So if I may introduce you to the general public so everyone else knows to stay away from your lack of driving skills or at least purposely let you hit them and thus suing you for all you have. Which would probably just be some more sleeveless plaid shirts and trucker hats…and maybe a sheep that your sister caught you messing around and with and that’s why she left you.

Affectionately,

GRiD

PS. For people who can’t see, the license plate is 6NC-W11. Just so everyone knows.
