Laugh Of The Day
So let’s start remembering those vague promises our new mayor campaigned about and see how he follows through. I had pros and cons on both but my vote ended up going toward Mr. Oakley. I just wonder how many times I’m going to have to hear about his damn single mom upbringing the next few years.
From Leppert’s page on issues -
Tom will make reducing dangerous crime a top priority, bringing together police, city officials, business leaders and neighborhoods to break down this huge problem that has held our families - and our city - hostage far too long.
As mayor, Tom will take a hands-on approach to education, and will reach out to the civic and business communities to get involved and help improve all Dallas schools.
As mayor, Tom will put his business experience to work for taxpayers and families – reducing waste, stretching tax dollars and creating real growth and opportunity that ease the burden on homeowners.
And that’s about all he says. My only response. How? I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Rich is letting me be guest editor this week. Enjoy!
Seems like Ellum:Onstage is getting somewhat of an overhaul within a year of its opening. You know them, right? The uber-complex in Deep Ellum that’s part music venue, part coffeeshop, part daycare, part community center, part church. Them’s a lot of parts. They have some good intentions and got its venue off to a great start with its NXSW festival that people seemed to ignore. Maybe just a case of too much too soon. So with a little bit of redux, maybe they can get it all going the right way. Read on:
