Dirk accepts his MVP

Watch it here and then read Richie’s take.

Simply enough, the guy’s a humble star. Ooops, I think Richie says that though.

Congrats Dirk.

RE: You got gas?

Hehe. Today is the gas purchasing boycott day (trust me, you want to click on that hyperlink) or whatever the official name of it is. As I mentioned, I couldn’t quite figure out how the boycott would work. However, Bolton put it in a whole different perspective. Too funny and great point:

Gas Prices vs ?

People have been complaining about the rising price of gasoline recently, but I have always thought that gas was a good value (especially if you were to take the $0.30, $0.40 per gallon tax off at the pump)! Obviously others need a little convincing. So the article in this week’s “Autoweek” magazine brought it all to light. What if you were to buy a gallon of . . .

- Diet Snapple 16 oz for $1.29 = $10.32 per gallon
- Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz for $1.19 = $9.52 per gallon
- Gatorade 20 oz for $1.59 = $10.17 per gallon
- Ocean Spray 16 oz for $1.25 = $10.00 per gallon
- Quart of Milk 16 oz for $1.59 = $6.32 per gallon
- Evian (water) 9 oz for $1.49 = $21.19 per gallon
- STP Brake Fluid 12 oz for $3.15 = $33.60 per gallon
- Vicks Nyquil 6 oz for $8.35 = $178.13 per gallon
- Pepto Bismol 4 oz for $3.85 = $123.20 per gallon
- Whiteout 7 oz for $1.39 = $254.17 per gallon
- Scope 1.5 oz for $0.99 = $84.84 per gallon

So next time you’re at the pump, be glad your car doesn’t run on Nyquil or Scope or Whiteout!

House of Blues without Clues

Late in mentioning this.

Last Tuesday I went to the House of Blues opening with Erykah Badu. The place is great but a friggin’ ordeal to get in. First it’s the box office, then the bracelet guy, then the wand scanning for guns and THEN a walk to the door to get my ticket scanned and be allowed in. The venue is beautiful as it should be. Huge too. Ample space, nice sound and gorgeous lighting that bathed Badu and the band beautifully. That really stood out to me. My friend too. The problem? Two of ‘em. We stood about 20 minutes each time for a drink with maybe two people ahead of us each time. Bartenders, get your $hit together, you’re open now. Second, Erykah decides to start about two hours after she was scheduled. Chick, you hot but you AIN’T DIANA ROSS. Can’t stand stuff like that and it’s very disrespectful to the fans.

After five songs, we were done and headed to the restaurant. Oh, that’s the third thing. If we wanted to go back and forth between restaurant and venue, we had to have a receipt from the restaurant. That was a big eye-roller for me. But what they lacked in organization, they made up for in ribs. Their rack o’ ribs DID slide off the bone just like the menu said. Oh my gosh, it was heaven. Really. Like edible velvet. The side of fries and asparagus complimented it well but their deliciosity was eclipsed by the massive side o’ meat. The cheapie drink glasses and uber-loud band though rubbed me wrong though. Whaddya do?

You got gas?

I’ve been seeing this go around for the past couple of weeks. Seen it last year too but I think I’m not grasping the idea. Could anyone explan the math behind this? If everyone in the US boycotted gas for a day, how exactly will that change the price and wouldn’t it just go back up the next day or following week? I was never very good at math. Help?

There’s a national gas boycott on May 15. If enough of us do it, we can lower gas prices significantly, and overnight.

PLEASE HELP US BY PARTICIPATING IN THE INACTION.

DO NOT BUY GAS TOMORROW. FILL YOUR TANK TODAY, AND PASS THIS ON TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!
