Just when I was easing back into Taco Bell

After last year’s e coli scare in Taco Bell, I decided to give it up once and for all. Any kind of disgusting outbreak in a restaurant will pretty much keep me from heading that way ever again. And despite my cravings for a breakfast sandwich, I’ve yet (and probably never will) go back here. Cringe. But Taco Bell has a special place in my heart and probably my arteries. I love their stuff. And they sell Pepsi which seems to be a rare find among fast food places.

When e coli hit the Bell I decided to sever my relationship with it. But the math would work in my favor. More outbreaks, less fast food restaurants to eat, dine a little better, shed a couple of pounds. However, once the scare was over and I was reassured that Taco Bell was safe after convincing PR damage control, I ventured back. Well twice since I’ve cut out a lot of fast foods anways but nonetheless, Taco Bell and I were back on speaking terms. That is until I saw this. Cringes exponentially.

I realize this is probably some freak isolated incident miles away from here but the reality of it is, I’m creeped out. And I’m afraid that I won’t be hearing any more Bells in accord with quick culinary cuisine. I’ll have to find a place more Bueno.

Five Times the Oscar

In one last desperate attempt to catch up on the Oscar race before Sunday, AMC offers an epic Best Picture Showcase tomorrow at select theaters. For $30, imagine catching up on these films in one day. I can’t since three of the films are on DVD, but hey, if you’re into that big screen sort of thing, go for it. Thirty bucks is also going to get you a free large popcorn, free large drink, unlimited refills and (gasp!) a collectible pass. However, it’s a few select theaters around town that you can find here. Personally, I’m picking Little Miss Sunshine as the winner. I have a slight feeling it’s gonna squeak in and take the big prize. But then, usually, my feelings are wrong.
