Another Cold Weather Cancellation

From the Liquid Lounge and Curtain Club. Don’t worry, just a cancellation, not a closedown.

Tonight’s Shows Cancelled!

Due to impending bad weather, the Curtain Club and Liquid Lounge shows have been cancelled. Both shows will be rescheduled for a future date. Sorry for any inconvenience. Stay warm and be safe!

Know Your Politicians

I’ve decided to refrain from favoring any local mayoral candidates only because I think ethically and publicly I shouldn’t. And yes I have in the past and yes I tailored previous postings to not reflect as such but I do believe in helping people get a better idea of who is in the race and what he/she is about even if it comes from the candidate himself. So whether it’s on my blogroll or a posting or whatever, consider it only as a resource and not an endorsement. You’ll probably even see a consistency in my postings but all I can say to that is don’t presume too much.

Whew. It is hard to tiptoe.  Having said all that, I just received this from the Zac Crain camp. Now do with it what you will.

Hello …

We’ve recently opened a new section on the Crain for Mayor site endorsements. Here it is:

As you can see, it’s not about which paper or business organization gives me the thumbs up. It’s about which real citizens do so.

So if you, or someone you know, would like to fill out the form, that would be a great help. No pressure. If you don’t feel comfortable doing so, that’s not a big deal.

But you SHOULD feel comfortable doing so.

Any questions, hit me up. I’m here all day every day.

Zac

Wintry Mix Saturday Night

If you’re brave, I’d suggest heading here. This band, an offshoot of the Deathray Davies, is just short of amazing. I think so anyways. Me? Not sure how brave I’ll be in the midst of freezing rain and icy roads but I’m supposed to be here hooking up with my cuz to perpetuate her drinking habit. I’m also considering this place since someone I know will be playing onstage tonight. Or it may just be me, a dvd and a frozen pizza in the comfort of my cozy toasty flat.

He Has a Dream Too

What is this? G.R.i.D.’s Kids Day?

This is also from the Dallas Morning News but I read it in yesterday’s issue. R.L. Thornton Elementary kids competed in essay contest based on Martin Luther King’s famous speech. I’m a sucker for stuff like this and this kid’s pic almost had me in tears. A sweet moment for the boy. Good for him.

Kid with Conviction

Kids nowadays. Whatcha gonna do?

The whole Medieval obsession thing is beyond me but at the same time this story from DallasNews.com had me rooting for the kid.
