Completely Shallow Addition to the Hot Blog! Stand

Actually, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to add Time reporter Andrew Sullivan’s blog, the Daily Dish to the stand. It’s a great read and he’s completely brilliant. But I must admit, what started me reading it was seeing a pic of him. And he’s quite the hottie.

Welcome aboard, Mr. Sullivan. Thanks for your perspective.

Same-sex marriage ban advances in Massachusetts

Just got this update from advocatemagazine.com. A little deflating to hear.

Lawmakers in Massachusetts, the only state where same-sex marriage is legal, voted Tuesday to allow a proposed constitutional amendment to move forward that could effectively ban the practice. The amendment’s backers had collected 170,000 signatures to get a question on the 2008 ballot asking voters to declare marriage to be between only a man and a woman, but they still needed the approval of legislators in two consecutive sessions.

On Today’s Oprah

I don’t care if people chuckle at my adoration of the Oprah show. It’s my blueprint for whenever my show takes off and plus, she does good for the world. How can that be a bad thing?

But I must beg you to try to watch today’s episode which is actually a repeat. It’s the Oprah High School Challenge. As the site says, go inside a daring experiment—64 teens will be transformed. Confrontation, heartache, confessions…even forgiveness.

A powerful and amazing social experiment that I hope can motivate and move you…even if just a bit.

Watch - tape -TiVo it if you can. Do it for me. Innocent

Burger Kings

This month’s Advocate (no, not The Advocate, this is a local free mag) has a semi-great article on these two gents who have taken it upon themselves to discover the best burger in Dallas. Apparently they had issue with D Magazine’s cover article on the best hamburger in Dallas which went to Wingfield’s in the Cliff. Ever since then, they’ve been hitting all the burger joints around town. And got me all hungry at the same time. As did these guys.

Read the article here but warning…it’s pdf format. Before ordering a burger, I’d like to order better accessibility to their articles.

My personal vote for best burger? I’d have to say a tie between Metro Grill’s Stuffed Burger and the perfectly greasy burgers from Griff’s Hamburgers. So good, they’ll make you slap yo momma.
