Just Plano Funny

Plano may not be the place to look to for comic relief, but Tuesday night at the Austin Avenue Bar and Grill, local comedian CedMan made one of his attempts at “blowing the lid off the comedy scene in Dallas” with his Ebony and Ivory Comedy Show. And he wants to do that by booking at venues other than comedy clubs.

His best shot at success goes by the name of Justin Foster, potentially the funniest man in Dallas. He sucker punched the audience with jokes on racism, terrorism and ageism not to mention the usual ex-girlfriend stuff. Turns out, he’s fairly new to the scene but has already played gigs in New York and Houston along with hosting a show at the Addison Improv. And for the myspace crowd, he was voted “Favorite New Comedian in Dallas” by comedy fans on the website. Check him out here:

The other comics ranged from funny to ouch with one fairly brutal heckler that could have probably taken on Michael Richard’s tirades, which frustrated the host. “In a comedy club, people like that get thrown out. In a bar, they can’t.” CedMan mentioned. But like a pro, he kept it running smooth. No word yet on the next show. But keep an eye out for the guy. He took part in the recent Def Jam Comedy Auditions here in Dallas last month for their new season. At 6’7”, he’s hard to miss. Who knows? We may have a new Bernie Mac in our midst.
