Shooting from the Hip

Ya know, on the ‘cool’ spectrum, I’d fairly say I’m just on the underside of the middle. And I did say just. My job requires me to be in the know about the local nightlife which lends itself to being up on local music which throws me into a world of scenesters and hipsters. Armed with said knowledge, my cool quotient goes up. On the opposite, I’m a fairly conservative dresser (who at times can be inspiringly fabulous) who cannot wear skinny jeans (although I’m much better suited to the nightlife scene than Mr. Dallas but don’t get me started on that again). CQ - down. And with a mixture of buying what is considered cool music, watching Oprah, living in East Dallas, obsessing over YouTube, etc. my CQ balances out pretty nicely.

But now I have what I need to be more in the hipster know thanks to East Dallas Hipster. He and his blog are enlightening me to the ways of the Dada-esque and Cavern-iscous. Those who blog at Gachet and only watch foreign documentaries at the Angelika. He is a visionary to the future of the scene and his encylopedic knowledge of the goings-on is Nostradomical. I have seen the future of hip and it is EDH.

Please welcome him to the Hot Blog! stand. I only hopes he’ll grace GRiD with his first interview.
