My dream job

I think I should be a band namer. I’m still waiting to hand out Genome Gnome to some alt emo prog rock band. Takers? But I do think this is the worst band name ever. And this may be one of the best.

Holiday Spirits Bring Good Cheer

obar Serves Up Simple Recipes and Tips for Holiday Cocktails

Dallas, Texas – Add a little “hip” to your holiday season with cool cocktails. Rather than serving wine to guests, create a festive mood with holiday-themed specialty drinks. obar, a sleek, subterranean lounge with the attitude of New York and the style of LA, offers some simple recipes for serving up unforgettable holiday concoctions.

The obar team, led by owner Tim McEneny, has become the party planning experts with the catering assistance of award-winning Chef Doug Brown of Food Beyond The Box. From creating unique customized cocktails to offering suggestions on décor, garnishes and music, obar has become a staple for events, whether for 10 people or 300.

Godiva Cranberry Martini

1 oz. Grey Goose Vodka

1 oz. Godiva Liqueur

1 oz. Cranberry Juice

2 Cranberries, fresh

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Cover with the lid and shake vigorously up and down for about 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with two fresh cranberries.

Candy Cane (shot)

1/3 oz. Grenadine

1/3 oz. Green Crème de Menthe

1/3 oz. Peppermint Schnapps

Slowly layer ingredients in shot glass in order as listed. Garnish with miniature candy cane.

Pecan Pie Martini

1 tsp. of pecan extract

1 tsp. of brown sugar

1 oz. Brandy

1.5 oz. Chopin Vodka

1 cinnamon tasted pecans

Add extract, brown sugar and Brandy to shaker and stir with spoon until sugar is dissolved. Add ice until shaker is half full and vodka. Shake for 30 seconds, strain into chilled martini glass and enjoy!
