Seven Day G-Man 10-8
This week’s SDGM is more in the abstract sense. And it didn’t happen until today but I sort of knew it would.
The week itself wasn’t so bad. My abstract runner-up is Big Tex. The State Fair is one of my all time favorite things to do and when I’m there, he’s my guy. I went twice this past week and had a blast. And they weren’t even excursions to the rides or anything. Just chillin’ at the Embarcadero Building.
Does anybody remember this shot?

There’s a few jokes in there somewhere.
As for this week’s hottie, it really ends up being plural. And that’s cause I’m giving it to my guys the Turtle Creek Chorale. I’ve always said the TCC is the sound of heaven on human ears and I mean that. Their selections are beautiful, funny, moving and it is merely an experience that I try to introduce to people each time I go. I could go on about them for too long and I sense my hands wanting to keep typing. But no. They are to be heard and seen to fully appreciate them.
Their artistic director, Tim Seelig, invited me out to their show tonight and as always it was wonderful. But you MUST check out their Christmas show. I believe it’s becoming more of an iconic holiday event than the DTC’s Christmas Carol and the DSO’s Christmas concert. Classical/chorale music may not be everybody’s thing, but give the TCC a try. Whether you like it or not, you will be moved. Unless you’re a heartless soulless gnome stuck in this plane of existence as opposed to, oh I don’t know, purgatory! IJS!
Congrats to TCC for being this week’s Seven Day G-Men!! You don’t really see them here as this is more about the band that appeared on their cd, but you can take a listen. Enjoy!
