Seven Day G-Man 9-10
This week’s SDGM was a slam dunk thanks to Thursday night at Club Dada. Every Thursday night, Club Dada hosts The Fine Line Listening To series featuring local music. Check it out. It’s a cheap cover ($5) and Amanda Newman always has an awesome lineup of bands and musicians.
Admittedly, I went for the first time after finding out I had been on the guest list for that night since March. Oops! Sorry Amanda but also thanks for the consideration!! I ran into some colleagues and we hung out waiting for Sorta to play. They and Shanghai Five were the ones I really wanted to see. (If you can, check Sorta out, Shanghai, not so much)
After Sorta played their set, Shanghai set up and I was at the bar with my beer. Wondering where my colleague had gone to, I asked Amanda and come to find out, Taylor Hicks was in the house! You know him, Mr. American Idol winner. Mr. Soul Patrol. Mr. CUTIE!!
They day before I saw him on Leno and thought, man, he is really cute only the next to see the guy in person! With his Southern twang and frosty hair, I knew since Thursday, he’d be the man to beat for today’s coveted title! He’s a little taller than I imagined and thinner than he is on tv. But either way, he’s dreamy. However, my colleagues seem to have forgotten to include me in their proposed menage a trois.
Needless to say I was very disappointed.
